and geometry are covered in Ch. 1, sections 5 and 6.
We discuss the solutions
to Homework 1 (page 1, page
2)
Today's lecture begins with
a brief discussion of the importance of mathematics in physics (1,
2). We continue covering mathematical preliminaries
with a review of algebra (1, 2,
3) and also begin our discussion
of graphing.
