Reading Assignment: The syllabus and calendar for the course.

This is the introductory lecture for the semester. More than half of the class is dedicated to discussing the course syllabus (pages 1 and 2) and the calendar for the semester (Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May). Please read these documents carefully.The first homework addignment is due Friday January 17.
We also dicsuss the goals of the course and the expectations on the student, and major subject areas of physics.
